CNY Senators Coach Mike Herrera turns pro
The CNY Senators proudly announce that Coach Mike Herrera has taken the next step in his hockey career, signing a professional contract with the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL).
Prior to joining the Ice Flyers, Mike played at the collegiate level for Utica University, demonstrating exceptional skill and dedication throughout his time on the ice.
A Syracuse, NY native, Mike began his hockey journey with the Syracuse Nationals. His impressive career path includes playing for teams such as the Rochester Coalition AAA and Northern Cyclones AAA, attending the Brooks School for prep hockey, and competing in the NCDC with the Utica Jr. Comets.
Coach Mike has been an invaluable asset to the CNY Senators development program, working closely with players to enhance their speed, stickhandling, and strategic approach to the game’s fast-paced nature. His commitment to player development has made a significant impact on our athletes.
Congratulations to Coach Mike on this exciting achievement! We look forward to following his progress with the Ice Flyers and eagerly anticipate his return to the ice with the Senators this May.
